If you want to look the best you can on your wedding day then read on.

When it comes to that special day everyone wants to look their best.  Losing weight to fit into your dress is not something that can be put off until the last minute, it needs to be a long and committed process.  In the months leading up to a wedding people often find themselves putting on weight as they are under stress and often have numerous get-togethers.

The best way to beat the belly is by both you and your partner agreeing to stick to a healthy diet and exercise routine.  It is a lot easier to achieve your goals if both people in the relationship are looking out for and supporting the other.

Below we have outlined some tips to help you achieve that wedding day bliss!

1. Listen to your body
Don’t just eat for the sake of eating. Just because “Corri” or your favourite soap opera is on tv doesn’t mean that you have to start reaching for the tea and buns.  Instead only eat when you are hungry.  It is also better to eat smaller lighter meals a few times a day than just one or two big ones.  Eating less more often helps to improve your metabolism.

2. Get your walking boots on!
On the way to work or the shops and in general,  you should try parking a few streets away or at the other end of the car park and walking the rest.  A brisk walk is all you need to start burning those extra calories.  Try taking the stairs instead of the lift as well.

3.Eat before parties
Going for a girlie night out or over to a friend’s house? Have a small snack first.  This will help keep up your energy and keep your hands of the pafitta rolls.

4. To eat healthy, Live healthy
Don’t let yourself be surrounded by all your favourite treats and temptations.  Clean out those cupboards and fridge.  If your partner still wants to have his own treats tell him to hide them out of sight.
take inches of your waist
5. Eat Healthy
To get fit and healthy give your body the right fuel.  You should be eating a balanced and healthy diet.  Have lots of vegetables and fruits.  If you are a meat eater try and mix it up a bit and have chicken, beef, fish etc.

6. Set Goals
Set yourself goals and reward yourself for meeting them.  For example if you lose x lbs go and buy those shoes you wanted or treat yourself to a massage.

7. Do it at home

If you can’t make it to the gym there is still no excuse.  Get an exercise mat and some dumbbells.  You can easily do a tough workout in your front room.  Squats, push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, arm curls, tricep dips, chest weights and lots more can all be done with little or no equipment or space.
